Centuries ago, when the Himalayas echoed with the chants of sages, a tale was told of Lord Shiva’s Leela — his cosmic play. It was said that near the Saraswati River, Mahadev revealed his compassion by offering weary pilgrims a place of rest, so they could regain strength before darshan at the Kedarnath shrine.
Inspired by this legend, a humble abode was built — Leela Mahadev Guest House LMGH, the first guest house at Kedarnath built in 1929. Its name carries the essence of Shiva’s divine play (Leela) and his supreme presence (Mahadev). Every room is more than shelter; it is a reminder that the pilgrim’s journey is part of Shiva’s cosmic drama.
Here, comfort meets devotion: warm beds after the climb, hot water to soothe the body, and the sound of temple bells to calm the soul. Leela Mahadev is not just a guest house; it is a sacred resting place where every night becomes a prayer, and every dawn begins with the blessing of Mahadev.
🌸 The True Story of Padmashram Kedarnath 🌸
In the early 20th century, a divine journey connected Himachal Pradesh and Kedarnath forever. Pandit Shri Kashinath Sharma, a revered teerth purohit, advised Raja Padam Singh of Bushahr State to build a resting place for pilgrims at Shri Kedarnath Dham. Inspired, the Raja donated generously, and the foundation was laid in 1917.
After 12 years of devotion, in 1929, one of the first and finest guest houses of Kedarnath was established — named Padamkothi, later known as Padmashram. The legacy continued through Raja Virbhadra Singh and today, Vikramaditya Singh remains an advisor to the purohit family, ensuring the integrity of this divine foundation.

Wholesome food is served as prasadam, refreshing pilgrims after their journey in this sanctuary of simplicity.

Both our properties are located within 200-500 meters of the temple complex, making it extremely convenient for elderly pilgrims and early morning Darshan.
What are the check-in timings?
Our standard check-in is at 12:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in is subject to room availability.
Do you provide medical assistance?
Yes, we have oxygen cylinders and basic first-aid available on-site for altitude-related needs.
Is parking available?
Vehicles must be parked at the Sonprayag/Gaurikund parking lots as per government regulations. We can assist with porter services from the helicopter pad.
